The selection process is determined by the groundwater level and the type of water source. For borewells with a water table deeper than 10-15 metres, a submersible pump is employed. Conversely, in scenarios involving open wells, ponds, and similar sources, a surface pump is deemed more suitable. Additionally, a surface pump is installed when the water level is below 10 metres.
