How exactly is the overload protection function of the inverter realized?

2025-05-12

The overload protection function of the Solar Water Pump inverter is mainly achieved through the following several ways:

1.Current detection
The inverter is equipped with a built-in current sensor to monitor in real time whether the output current exceeds the rated current. Once the current is detected to exceed the rated value, the inverter will automatically cut off the power supply to prevent equipment damage or excessive burden on the solar panels.

2. Power detection
The inverter can also achieve overload protection through power detection. When the output power exceeds the rated power, the inverter will automatically cut off the power supply to protect the stability of the system.

3. Dynamic overload protection parameters
Solar water pump inverters usually have specific overload protection parameters. For example, when the current reaches 130% of the rated current, the inverter will shut down within 2 minutes. When the current reaches 150% of the rated current, the inverter will shut down within one minute. When the current reaches 300% of the rated current, the inverter will shut down immediately.

4. Intelligent control
The inverter, through its built-in intelligent control system, can monitor the working status of the equipment in real time. Once an abnormal situation (such as overload, overheating, short circuit, etc.) is detected, the protection mechanism will be triggered.

5. Time limit
When the overload protection is triggered, the inverter will start a timer. If the overload state persists for a certain period of time (such as the preset operating duration), the inverter will automatically stop working and start a countdown until the timing value drops to zero or the overload protection is triggered again.

6. Graded protection
The inverter may be set with multiple overload protection levels, each corresponding to a different overload protection timer and preset operating duration. The higher the overload protection level, the shorter the preset operating time, in order to reduce the operating time of the inverter under overload conditions.

7. Load type identification
The inverter can adjust the overload protection threshold according to the load type (such as half-wave load and full-wave load) to adapt to different types of loads.

These overload protection functions not only ensure the safe operation of the solar water pump system, but also extend the service life of the equipment, and enhance the reliability and efficiency of the system.
